Is Organic Balanced Meal Gluten Free, Dairy Free, And Soy Free?

Yes! Organic Balanced Meal is free of all the major food allergens (milk, eggs, fish [e.g., bass, flounder, cod], Crustacean shellfish [e.g., crab, lobster, shrimp], tree nuts [e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans, peanuts], wheat [gluten], and soybean) as identified in the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004.

Does Organic Balanced Meal Contain GMO (Genetically Modified) Ingredients?

No! The ingredients used to formulate Organic Balanced Meal have all been carefully selected to ensure purity and potency. Organic Balanced Meal has been tested and confirmed non-GMO which is stated on the front of the label.

Is Organic Balanced Meal Tested For Heavy Metals?

Yes! We do indeed do third party testing on all our Organic Balanced Meal products. There’s been a whole lot of attention lately on heavy metals in nutritional supplements. Particularly those products on the market containing brown rice and/or brown rice syrup. In the early development of Organic Balanced Meal, we found through our own research and testing that brown rice protein typically had levels of certain heavy metals (namely lead, arsenic and cadmium) that were many times higher than our other plant protein sources. Because of this, and a few other factors, we at The Organic Diabetic opted to avoid brown rice altogether.

Does Organic Balanced Meal Have Any Certifications?

Yes! Organic Balanced Meal is USDA organic certified and is produced in a facility that has been certified as being compliant with all Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) by NSF International, a world leader in third party audits and certifications, and the Natural Products Association.

How Long Can Organic Balanced Meal Be Stored? What Is Its Best Used By Date?

Organic Balanced Meal is formulated so that is has a Best Used By date of 24 months from the time of its manufacture; provided that it is in a closed container. A date code is printed at the bottom of the container to indicate the month and year (MM/YR) by when it is best used. For example, if the date code reads 06/15, that means that this product is best used before June of 2015.

Can You Explain The Organic Fermented, Sprouted Food blend In Organic Balanced Meal?

Organic Balanced Meal is a complete protein blend with naturally occurring amino acids. The product has a total of 22 grams of protein. The organic fermented food portion of the formula consists of organic sprouted amaranth and organic sprouted quinoa. These ingredients are fermented with natural living starter cultures (the same ones used to create probiotics). During this proprietary fermentation process, many different strains of probiotics and enzymes are cultivated in their natural whole food state. When added to the concentrated plant proteins, this unique fermented blend actively breaks down the proteins into shorter peptides and amino acids for an easily digested and highly bio-available nutrient source that is more efficiently utilized by the body.

Organic Balanced Meal is sweetened with stevia. Stevia is a natural extract that comes from the leaves of the Stevia plant.  What I love about it, zero impact when it comes to affecting your blood sugars.

Is Organic Balanced Meal Easy On The Stomach? Why?

Yes, Organic Balanced Meal is easy on the stomach. It is the first protein shake specifically designed to enhance digestion. This is relative to the active cultures in our unique fermented food blend which helps to optimize the balance of flora in your digestive tract for better overall digestive health. The active cultures found in the organic fermented, sprouted food blend which has a broader range of beneficial bacteria to support digestion in a way that you can actually feel.

Why Enzymes?

Enzymes, Protease, Amylase, Cellulase, Papain and Lipase assist with digestion. Most legumes (like peas) contain starches that may cause bloating and gas in some people. While these starches are naturally separated from the proteins in Organic Balanced Meal in its manufacturing processes, there still could be some trace amounts.

Anytime that you formulate with a live, active culture, as you find in our fermented food blend, it is important to preserve the good cultures but at the same time, prevent the growth of bad cultures. Generally, bad cultures are prevented by using preservatives or high heat processing. We are able to stabilize our cultures with sea salt – nature’s natural preservative.

Where Is The Sodium Coming From In Organic Balanced Meal?

The sodium in Organic Balanced Meal is naturally occurring and comes from our proprietary blend of proteins, as well as a tiny amount coming from the added sea salt. It is approximately 13% of the daily value per serving.

What Is The Amino Acid Profile?

The Amino Acid Profile is a proprietary blend of Organic pea, Organic sprouted amaranth, Organic sprouted quinoa and Organic flax seed proteins. Along with the fermented food blend, the product would still be considered to be low glycemic and completely safe for diabetics to consume.

When And How Often Do I Take Organic Balanced Meal?

Organic Balanced Meal can be taken anytime, day or night. It can be used in the morning as a great way to start the day or after exercise to replenish and recover lost nutrients.
